Student’s Marijuana Possession Charge Dismissed

Posted On: April 24th, 2014 by Bradley J. Groene

A young University of Cincinnati student landed in trouble after making some bad decisions while in his dorm room one night. Officers passing by noticed the aroma of smoke and knocked on the door. When the student let officers into his room, they found marijuana and a glass pipe. He was charged with marijuana possession and possession of paraphernalia.

The student was worried about his future, since a conviction would put his student loans in jeopardy and cost him a six-month drivers license suspension. He turned to Attorney Brad Groene of the Cincinnati Criminal Defense team for help.

The student had no prior criminal history, and we found there were issues with the evidence in the case and Fourth Amendment violations by the law enforcement officers. We were able to fight on the student’s behalf to get the marijuana possession and possession of paraphernalia charges dismissed, and helped the student protect his future from this mistake.
