A junior engineering major at Miami University asked Cincinnati criminal defense attorney Brad Groene for legal representation after he was charged with possession of illegal drugs. After doing some preliminary research into his offense, the student realized a charge of such a nature would hinder his future employment, student loan eligibility, and even result in a six-month license suspension.
Attorney Groene represented the young man and had his best interest in mind as he got closer to graduation. In one court appearance and during some intense discussions with the prosecutor, the student’s charge was reduced to disorderly conduct. Luckily, this charge was not associated with the six-month license suspension. Likewise, it was not a drug-related offense – a positive result for a college student looking for a job. The student should have no problem finding a job after graduation with this substantially lower offense on his record.
